As we prepare for integration with Weiser Memorial Hospital, St. Luke’s and the Weiser taxing district have been participating in discussions with the Idaho Attorney General’s Office to address any questions they may have about the transaction. We are also discussing St. Luke’s relationships with the taxing districts in McCall and Elmore County.
Several months ago, St. Luke’s proactively notified the Attorney General’s Office of our intent to integrate with Weiser Memorial Hospital. As part of our ongoing discussions and document review, the attorney general prepared a draft complaint and shared the draft with St. Luke’s and the taxing districts. The attorney general has provided these materials to other parties in response to public records requests.
St. Luke’s and the hospital districts are working with the Attorney General’s Office to understand their concerns and to arrive at an agreeable solution. St. Luke’s remains committed to partnering with others to improve healthcare delivery in our region. We value St. Luke’s relationships, cultivated for more than a century, within the communities we serve, which have led to our community-owned organization’s vision and success in planning for the future.
