Todd and Pam Gabriel accept the Luke Award for outstanding dedication to fundraising for St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.
February 3, 2014

Boise – St. Luke’s announced that Pam and Todd Gabriel and the Jayden DeLuca Foundation are this year’s recipients of the 13th annual Luke Award for their continued support of St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.

Each year, the St. Luke’s Health Foundation Children’s Advisory Board chooses the recipients of the Luke’s Award based on the individuals’, organizations’ or business’ outstanding dedication to fundraising for St. Luke’s Children’s.

Many volunteers like the Luke’s Award recipients and various organizations support the care of local children by raising funds and awareness for St. Luke’s Children’s. These efforts help St. Luke’s physicians and caregivers provide a superior experience to the families and patients who utilize the services at the children’s hospital.

Pam and Todd Gabriel are long-time supporters of St. Luke’s Children’s. From 1998 to 2003, Pam Gabriel served on the St. Luke’s Children’s Advisory Board. She served as Ambassador in 2005 on the Kid for a Night Committee and then worked as the event’s Chair in 2009. Pam Gabriel was also involved in volunteering for Karnations for Kids from 2008 to 2010.

Todd Gabriel is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of the Boise State University’s Bronco Athletic Association Board of Directors. Todd Gabriel has also traveled to Belarus, Republic of Georgia, and China on short-term mission trips. Each year he leads Cole Valley Christian School students in volunteering efforts during the KTVB Cares Day. Additionally, Todd Gabriel provides his expertise to Make-A-Wish foundation and sponsoring their Serving Up Wishes event.

Together the Gabriels have sponsored Kid For A Night since 1996 and Scramble for the Kids since 2000.

The Jayden DeLuca Foundation’s mission is to help children fight cardiac diseases and other pediatric conditions as well as support their families and raise awareness for children with cardiac conditions.  Jayden DeLuca was a life-loving, smiley girl who was born with a congenital heart condition. The Foundation was created in Jayden’s memory by her parents, Jeremy and Karalie DeLuca and her uncle Ryan DeLuca, founder and CEO of Bodybuilding.com.

The Foundation has shown their support most recently with a $75,000 donation towards revitalizing the Pediatric Resource Room at St. Luke’s. This will help make the space more comfortable and useful for families. The support of Jayden DeLuca Foundation is ongoing and allows the Children Hospital to expand the resource library, develop mentorship programs, and strengthen support for families of the children.

Additionally, Karalie DeLuca is a St. Luke’s Children’s Advisory Board member since 2012 as well as a Kid for A Night sponsor in 2013.
