Undergraduate, Licensure and Certification Programs

St. Luke’s Student Services and leadership are committed to supporting student education. We partner with affiliated schools, students, and St. Luke’s clinicians to develop strong professionals who are prepared and committed to address the needs of healthcare in our communities.

Certified Nurses’ Aide Students - attending through a college

St. Luke’s collaborates with the College of Western Idaho and the College of Southern Idaho for clinical placement for students enrolled in a certified nurses’ aide program.

Clinical placement is arranged through school coordinators.

Imaging Students – Radiology, CT, MRI, & Ultrasound

Clinical placement is requested by school coordinators. All student instructions and timeline will be communicated by St. Luke’s student coordinator once a confirmed clinical list is received.    


Licensed Practical Nursing Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with the College of Southern Idaho and Carrington College for clinical rotations for students enrolled in a licensed practical nursing program.  

Clinical placement is arranged through school coordinators.

Medical Assistant Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with the College of Western Idaho, the College of Southern Idaho, Treasure Valley Community College and Carrington College for clinical rotations of students enrolled in a medical assisting program.  

Clinical placement is arranged through school coordinators.

Medical Lab Science Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with Idaho State University and other out-of-state programs to set up clinical experiences for students enrolled in medical lab science programs.

Music Therapy Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with established universities to offer clinical rotations for students enrolled in a music therapy program.

Internship placements are arranged by St. Luke’s student services coordinator in partnership with each university.

Contact Brenda Krueger to receive an application (functional objectives, exact dates, hours and a current résumé will be required).


Nursing Students (Traditional BSN & ADN programs)

St. Luke’s collaborates with many educational institutions to offer group rotations for local nursing students, as well as senior preceptorships for local and regional nursing students.  

Clinical placement is requested by school coordinators. All instructions and due dates will come from your school.  


Nursing Students (RN to BSN programs)

St. Luke’s works with several RN to BSN programs to facilitate leadership and community health hours for students in local and online programs. Priority is given to students that are employees of St. Luke’s Health System.

Clinical placement is requested by school coordinators. All instructions and due dates will come from your school.  

Employees will be expected to work with their current leaders/internal contacts to identify potential preceptors/mentors and to communicate this information with Student Services and your school coordinator/instructor prior to starting your hours. 

Note: If you are not an employee, but are interested in completing your leadership or community health hours with us, please reach out to your school coordinator for guidance.


Nutrition & Dietetic Students 

Clinical placement is requested by school coordinators.  All student instructions and timeline will be communicated by St. Luke’s student coordinator once a confirmed clinical list is received.  

Paramedic Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with Idaho State University and the College of Southern Idaho to schedule clinical rotations for students enrolled in paramedic programs. 
 
Clinical placement and availability is arranged through school coordinators.

Phlebotomy Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with the College of Western Idaho and the College of Southern Idaho to set up clinical experiences for students enrolled in a phlebotomy program.

Respiratory Therapy Students

Social Work Students

St. Luke’s collaborates with affiliated educational institutions to offer practicum hours for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate social work programs.
