Imagination, inspiration and fun take the stage at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital School, where each year students study one of Shakespeare’s plays, perform scenes and learn the timeless lessons that are as alive today as they were 400 years ago.
The Helena Project, which just finished its sixth year, gives the theater experience to hospitalized kids—from dressing in costumes and playing with props to reciting the famous lines and writing their own poetry in Shakespeare’s style. Actors from the Idaho Shakespeare Festival make regular appearances as teachers, co-performers and cheering sections. Generous community donors provide financial support.
