St. Luke's CARES Donation Wish List

Thank you for considering a donation to St. Luke’s CARES (Children at Risk Evaluation Services). St. Luke’s CARES provides medical examinations and treatment for children in cases of alleged abuse, providing care in an age-sensitive manner to reduce further emotional trauma. With the support of generous donors, we’re able to offer much needed basic necessities and enriching activities for our young patients.

To protect the health and safety of our patients, please ensure your item(s) meet these guidelines before making a donation. The guidelines include delivery instructions as well.

Greatest Needs

  • Children's clothing of all types and all sizes, from infant to adolescent (especially sweat shirts and sweat pants and/or two-piece pajama sets)
  • Coats and shoes
  • Blankets
  • Stuffed animals
  • Toothbrushes (for all pediatric stages), dental floss, toothpaste
  • Hygiene items such as personal grooming, hair care, deodorant, etc.
  • Writing journals
  • Picture books and reading books (toddler through teen)

Other Priority Needs

  • Coloring books and puzzle books
  • Markers, crayons, colored pencils
  • Arts and crafts kits


Clothing, Homemade Items, and Craft Projects

  • Underwear, size 3 and up
  • Pajama sets size 2T and up

  • Quilts/fleece blankets* 
  • Tote bags*
  • Handmade fun-print pillow cases*
  • Pillowcases (newly made, unused, clean, free of pins and odors) - View easy instructions for making pillowcases 
  • Fleece blankets (newly made, unused, clean, free of pins and odors)
  • Medical play dolls - View patterns and instructions 
  • Decoration and craft kits for patients to assemble in the hospital
    • Please do: 
      • Place all items in plastic zip storage bags
      • Include craft instructions and a photo of the finished product (optional) so the kids know what to do
      • Pre-cut all paper into the needed shapes and sizes including small things like silhouettes, eyes, teeth, dots, stripes, etc. 
    • Please do not:
      • Include glue, glitter, paint or scissors in the kits
      • Include items with latex, which can be found in balloons, rubber gloves, bracelet kits and craft foam; some of our patients are allergic to latex and it is not allowed in the hospital
