About St. Luke's Children's

Idaho's Only Children's Hospital

St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital is the beating heart of a network of pediatric specialists dedicated to the health of our community’s children. Having these experts close at hand means our kids get the specialized care they need…when they need it.

Children have very different health care needs than adults. That’s why St. Luke’s Children’s has created a network of medical experts that specialize in kids. Our patients and their families experience a top-rated team that includes subspecialists in areas offered in major academic centers, giving St. Luke’s the greatest depth, breadth, and concentration of children’s health resources in Idaho. And we have visiting subspecialists and clinics all over the state to bring care close to home.

Having a local Children’s Hospital means that kids and teens who are sick or injured can rely on care tailored just for them—because kids are not just small adults. They’re growing and developing, so their needs are constantly changing. They require extra monitoring, specialized medications, and caregivers with the skills and compassion to understand them. They need care that involves families from beginning to end, provided in a place that is kid-sized and child friendly.

We’re More than a Hospital

Of course, we care for kids when they get sick or hurt, or if they have complex, long-term health conditions. But we also offer programs to combat childhood obesity, provide dental care, and promote safety. We participate in cutting-edge research, train future doctors and nurses, and help with lodging, food, and transportation when families must travel for treatment. And we advocate for the health and well-being of all children on the local, state, and national level.

We Care for All Kids…and Their Families

St. Luke’s believes all children should have access to high quality healthcare, regardless of their condition or their family’s ability to pay. We see kids at more than 85,000 patient visits each year…no one is ever turned away!
