St. Lukes Home Care team of skilled professionals provides comprehensive health care in the warmth and comfort of the patients home. From newborns to seniors, we offer the latest home care techniques and technology to people at all ages and stages of life.
Our services are provided under a physicians order for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. People with acute or chronic disease or other health conditions have different needs, as do their family members. In partnership with the patient, family and physician, our skilled home care professionals create a plan of care tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Available Services
St. Lukes Home Care nurses are highly specialized professionals trained to provide assistance with complex therapies. Our skilled nursing services include health assessments, wound nurse consultations, IV therapy, catheter and colostomy care, pain management and much more all designed to help patients maintain their comfort, dignity and independence.
Other services include:
Physical Therapy
Strengthening, mobility and conditioning training/exercises
to help maximize function in the performance of daily activities.
Occupational Therapy
Enhancement of the patients independence through the
use of special equipment and training. Includes dressing,
feeding, bathing, cognition, upper extremity function, mobility
and home safety.
Speech Therapy
Assistance with language delays and articulation, written
language and voice disorders, learning disabilities and
swallowing disorders.
Social Worker Visits
Crisis intervention, counseling, guidance and community resource
referrals and information.
Respiratory Therapy
Assessment and consultation provided by a respiratory therapist
for complex respiratory conditions.
Nutrition Counseling
Comprehensive nutritional assessment and counseling provided
by registered dietitians.
Home Health Aides
Assistance with personal care, including bathing, meal preparation,
ambulation and exercise.
St. Lukes Hospice
In cases of life-limiting illness, Hospice services may be appropriate. St. Lukes Hospice team includes nurses, social workers, chaplains and volunteers dedicated to helping people die with dignity at home, free of pain and surrounded by loved ones.
Scheduling Home Care Visits
St. Luke's Home Care visits are scheduled upon referral from doctors. Once a physician referral is made, a Home Care representative meets with the patient to discuss needs and develop a plan of care.
Insurance Considerations
Home Care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance companies; these agencies are billed directly. For those without insurance coverage, other options may be available.

St. Luke’s Home Care and Hospice is available at two locations: Boise and McCall. Services are provided 7 days a week, including holidays and 24-hour on-call.
