Breast Cancer Detection Centers (BCDC)
Started in 1973 as one of only 20 survey projects of the National Cancer Institute, St. Luke's Breast Cancer Detection Centers have been serving women with low-cost mammography, breast examination and education for decades. Our five convenient locations and mobile service unit create easy access to screening technology that aids in the early detection of breast cancer. All mammography films performed at BCDC are automatically processed by a computer-aided detection system that assists radiologists by digitizing and analyzing mammograms for suspicious areas that may indicate cancer. Studies have shown that this system may help detect up to 20 percent more breast cancers in their earliest, most treatable stage. The first of its kind in Idaho, this computer-aided imaging technology is just one more example of St. Luke's MSTI's dedication to winning the battle against breast cancer. To make an appointment at any BCDC location, call 706-2055 in the Boise area or toll free at 1-866-381-2055. Locations St. Luke's BCDC East (near
