McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden
Located at St Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center

CoverAbout the Rose Garden
The Rose Garden on the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center’s Main Campus is a gift to the hospital and the community from the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Health Foundation and generous donors.  Members of the Magic Valley Falls community have enjoyed the Rose Garden since 1997 when the hospital’s landscape was transformed to reflect Martha Carlson’s drawings of a spectacular rose garden.  Twin Falls philanthropists Jim Kinney and Barbara McKain generously underwrote the major construction costs in memory of their former spouses; since the garden opened to the public other donors have honored their loved ones with roses, fountains, benches, paving stones and statuary.

photoThe plot features over 160 roses in 25 different varieties.  Visitors to the Rose Garden Celebration will find their favorite blooms, and discover new varieties to enjoy.  The St. Luke’s Magic Valley ground’s crew cares for the Rose Garden and ensures its perpetual beauty.  The garden is a living symbol of St. Luke’s Magic Valley and the Health Foundation’s growing commitment to provide the best possible health care for the citizens of the Magic Valley region.

The items above can be designated to honor those who are no longer with us, memorializing a loved-one for years to come.  Every piece of the Rose Garden will be relocated in June of 2011 upon the completion of the new hospital.  The garden will be designed and planted outside of the new Mountain States Tumor Institute building so that patients can enjoy a beautiful, tranquil view while undergoing cancer treatments.
