Legacy Society
St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation
Honoring those who leave a Legacy for a healthier community.
The annual Legacy Society dinner of the St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation was held April 11. The dinner recognized generous businesses, organizations, and individuals who make up the Legacy Society. Each has provided accumulative gifts of at least $1,000 through the St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation. This year's dinner, underwritten by KeyBank, recognized past Foundation donors as well as 100 donors who have recently moved to a new donor category. All Legacy Society members are recognized in one of three areas of the hospital: the McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden, the Cancer Center Wall of Honor, and the Legacy Society Wall of Honor.

Since 1952, generous and visionary individuals have given to benefit the health of Magic Valley citizens. Too often such gifts have gone unrecognized because they came at the end of the donor’s life. The Legacy Society provides a way for the St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation to thank generous donors during their lifetimes. The St. Luke's Magic Valley Health Foundation was established in 1978 by a group of community leaders. The volunteer board established The Legacy Society to recognize donors who have made a minimum gift of a $1,000 or plan to bequeath a gift for Magic Valley’s health care through the Foundation. Members of the Society are recognized on wall plaques in special areas of the hospital including the Legacy Society Wall of Honor, the Cancer Center Wall of Honor, and the McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden. Members are also listed in each Foundation Annual Report and receive all Foundation publications and special program notifications.Due to the generosity of Legacy Society donors, the Foundation is able to purchase life saving medical equipment, provide scholarships to nursing students and hospital staff, support programs for children and seniors, and assist in developing a medical library and cancer programs in additional to other projects.
