- 6:15 p.m. - Quick Cuisine Cooking Challenge, sponsored by Idaho Preferred

The Epicurean features a variety of chefs from all over Idaho and Nevada who donate their time, their talents, and a tasting menu to this fundraising event. The Epicurean focuses on Idaho-grown products this year by requiring our chefs to showcase an Idaho-grown ingredient in one of their menu items. While we've recommended the usual suspects (such as Idaho-grown grain, beef, trout, sugar-beet sugar, beans & potatoes), chefs are free to incorporate any Idaho-grown products, including honey, lavender, lamb or alligator, into their menu.
We've also invited Idaho wineries and distilleries to serve their beverages to our guests. Hayden Beverage will pour an assortment of wines, paying special attention to Idaho-produced vintages.
Net proceeds from the evening benefit the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) at the new St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center. Strokes, heart attacks, spinal cord and head injuries all affect an enormous number of people here locally; the IRU's presence in the Magic Valley allows patients to recover here locally, surrounded by family and friends.
