Emergency Medication Resources

RED CROSS: 733-6464 they work with individuals that have lost medications due to fire or other disaster.

COMMUNITY ACTION: 733-9351 $50.00 per year emergency medication allowance per family. Criteria: must meet the agencies income requirements, which work @ 125% of poverty guidelines. After that they will be refer to local churches or the county. Allowance is to pay for prescriptions and doctor visits. Contact: Leanne Trappen (Community Services Director)

MVMC DIABETES EDUCATION: 732-3200 or 732-3223 Contact Janet R. or Gay B. Any funds they have come from the Foundation and each person will need to meet criteria that the Foundation has set. It is suggested that any funds received from the Foundation be used for doctor’s appointment and the patient use the drug programs for medication and supplies.

MOUNTAIN STATE TUMOR INSTITUTE: 737-2441 The individual must be a cancer patient of the MVMC Cancer Center. There is emergency funding available for prescriptions only. Patient must meet hardship requirements and go through the Cancer Center Social Worker. If the Social Worker is unavailable then contact the cancer center receptionist for the name of the covering social worker. There are also gas vouchers for those traveling a long distance for cancer treatment. These individuals must also be current cancer patients. COUNTY: 736-4037 the person needs to come to their office between 1:30 and 3:00 Mon. - Fri. to apply. They have very strict guidelines.

SALVATION ARMY: 733-8720 If funds are available they can help. If not, they refer people to Community Action or the County. They can help each individual one time per year. Call to see what is available.

IDAHO MIGRANT COUNCIL: 734-3336 They can help in seeking medication for Idaho migrant workers or low income individuals. Individual must be from a Spanish family that receives at least 50% of it’s income from agriculture work or low income individuals. They will use up to $60 per family.
