About Twin Falls

In 2006, St. Luke’s and Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, a 165-bed county hospital founded in 1907, joined together to form the Idaho-based not-for-profit St. Luke’s Health System. As a result of the new partnership, the former county hospital transitioned to become St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. Located 120 miles southwest of Boise, Twin Falls is a growing community with strong agricultural roots, a dedication to family life, and a richness of western traditions such as farming, hunting, and fishing. The Magic Valley was named for the lush areas created by early settlers’ vision of using the mighty Snake River to irrigate their fields. Today, the name reflects the fertile valleys as well as the city of Twin Falls and its surrounding communities.
