Recovery From Joint Surgery

Our doctors, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and case managers will be on hand to help you and your family following surgery. You’ll also have access to a full range of exercise and therapeutic equipment to help you gain mobility and your highest level of independence.

Studies show involving a family member or friend as your “coach” will help you transition more safely to your recovery at home. Our approach includes individual therapies (with your coach present) to help you recover as rapidly and successfully as possible.

Through understanding your home environment, our therapists will guide you through activities needed to safely move after your surgery. As you progress through these activities, always keeping your safety in mind, we will work to get you home as quickly as possible. Most patients go home the same day as surgery or the next morning.

When it’s time for your hospital discharge, we’ll make sure both you and your coach have a clear understanding of how to continue a safe recovery at home.
