What is Urology?
Urology is the medical specialty dedicated to the treatment of disorders and diseases related to the male and female genital and urinary organs.
These organs include the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, prostate, and genitalia. St. Luke's Mountain States Urology is dedicated to ensuring that adult and pediatric patients with genitourinary problems receive the most advanced and comprehensive care available in the region.

St. Luke's Clinics
St. Luke’s Clinics are an integrated network of highly skilled health care professionals in locations throughout our region.
Brian Auge, MD, FACS is a board certified urologist and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He concentrates his practice in the evaluation and management of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, BPH, kidney stone disease, and other urologic conditions. He is skilled in the performance of da Vinci robotic surgery for all urinary tract malignancies, BPH, and other benign processes, as well as percutaneous and ureteroscopic removal of kidney stones. Dr. Auge earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine in 1993, and served his residency at the National Naval Medical Center. He completed his fellowship training in endourology, minimally invasive surgery, and laparoscopy at Duke University Medical Center. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of active service, and joined St. Luke’s Clinic – Mountain States Urology in 2011.
|Jared G. Heiner, MD has a special interest in prostate cancer treatment. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and performed his urology residency at the Medical College of Georgia.|
Robert Jackson, MD has a special interest in the treatment of male infertility and men’s health issues such as erectile dysfunction, penile curvature, and low testosterone. He has advanced training in the surgical management of erectile dysfunction and microsurgical techniques for varicocele repair and vasectomy reversal. He also treats a full spectrum of general urologic conditions including bladder dysfunction, kidney stones, and enlarged prostate. Dr. Jackson earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College Of Medicine. He completed his urology residency and fellowship in male infertility and sexual dysfunction at the University of Michigan.
Craig R. Spencer, MD is a board certified urologist. He provides care in all aspects of adult and pediatric urology, including urologic oncology, male and female voiding dysfunction, and stone disease. He performs open, laparoscopic, endoscopic, and robotic surgery. Dr. Spencer graduated from Washington State University before joining the U.S. Navy and earning his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He completed his urology residency and surgical internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego, and continues to serve as a commander in the Naval Reserves.
Michael B. Taylor, MD treats all aspects of adult urology, including oncology, male and female voiding dysfunction, and stone disease. He performs open, laparoscopic, prosthetic, endoscopic, and robotic surgery. Dr. Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the University of California-Irvine. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Utah.
Maggie Vuturo, MD, specializes in all aspects of adult female and male incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, neurogenic bladder, post-prostatectomy incontinence, sacral nerve stimulation, and complex urodynamics. She also treats general urologic conditions. Dr. Vuturo earned her medical degree and completed her urology residency at the University of Arizona, and completed her fellowship in female urology and male voiding dysfunction at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. She joined St. Luke's Mountain States Urology in 2011.
We try to stay on time, as a courtesy to you and others. Since paperwork may take a few minutes, please arrive early. As emergencies do occur, there may be occasions when your appointment time will be delayed. We will always try to keep you informed in the event of a delay, and will be happy to reschedule your appointment, if you prefer. We ask that you respect the appointment time we have reserved for you, and call 24 hours ahead to cancel or change appointments so that others may be helped during that time.
Communication with your provider is extremely important. It may be helpful for you to write down questions for your doctor or nurse practitioner prior to your visit. Bring a list of medications and the dosages, or bring the bottles with you.
Make sure you understand any instructions you are given. If clarification is needed, review your instructions with the provider or medical assistant before you leave. If you aren’t doing well after your visit, we want to hear from you. Our goal is to improve your health.
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, in-state Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others.
Talk with your provider at each visit to be sure your prescriptions are up to date. For refills, contact your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for verification and approval. For patient safety, narcotics cannot be refilled outside of office hours. Talk with your provider before your prescription runs out, and please allow 48 hours for refills.
