A physician is always available on call. If you have a medical emergency, please call 911 or go directly to the Emergency Department. For after-hour phone triage staffed by nurses, please call (208) 814-1000.
What is Pediatric Medicine?
Pediatricians are trained to care for children of all ages, from infancy through adolescence. Children are not just smaller versions of adults; their bodies are growing and changing rapidly, and are very different physiologically from those of adults. Their needs, their disease processes, and their ability to communicate are also very differenct from those of adults. St. Luke's Pediatric physicians are committed to serving the needs of children and their families through high quality, cost-effective clinical care and prevention.

|Jared Hansen, MD is board certified in general pediatrics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in 2000 and his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in 2004. He completed his pediatric internship and residency through the Brown University Pediatric Residency Program in 2007.|
|Gregory Jones, MD earned his bachelor's degree in in zoology and minors in chemistry and Spanish from Brigham Young University in 1994. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1998. He completed his pediatric residency at Columbus Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University in 2001, and joined St. Luke's Clinic Physician Center that same year.|
|Mitchell Moffitt, MD is board certified in general pediatrics and cares for patients in the clinic, hospital, and Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and his medical degree from George Washington School of Medicine in 2000. He completed his pediatric residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in 2003, and joined St. Luke's Clinic Physician Center in 2007. Dr. Moffitt speaks fluent Spanish.|
|Jack Trotter, MD is board certified in pediatrics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Davidson College and Master of Science degree from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and completed residencies at the University of Arkansas Health Sciences Hospital / Arkansas Children's Hospital (where he served as chief resident) and Princess Mary Hospital for Children in Auckland, New Zealand.|
We try to stay on time, as a courtesy to you and others. Since paperwork may take a few minutes, please arrive early. As emergencies do occur, there may be occasions when your appointment time will be delayed. We will always try to keep you informed in the event of a delay, and will be happy to reschedule your appointment, if you prefer. We ask that you respect the appointment time we have reserved for you, and call 24 hours ahead to cancel or change appointments so that others may be helped during that time.
Communication with your provider is extremely important. It may be helpful for you to write down questions for your doctor or nurse practitioner prior to your visit. Bring a list of medications and the dosages, or bring the bottles with you.
Make sure you understand any instructions you are given. If clarification is needed, review your instructions with the provider or medical assistant before you leave. If you aren’t doing well after your visit, we want to hear from you. Our goal is to improve your health.
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, in-state Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others.
Talk with your provider at each visit to be sure your prescriptions are up to date. For refills, contact your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for verification and approval. For patient safety, narcotics cannot be refilled outside of office hours. Talk with your provider before your prescription runs out, and please allow 48 hours for refills.
