On weekends, evening, and holidays, one physician handles all problems, emergencies, and deliveries for the entire clinic. During these times, you may leave a message with our answering service to reach the on-call physician by dialing 327-8249.

St. Luke’s Clinics are an integrated network of highly skilled health care professionals in locations throughout our region. 

Physicians

Our nine board certified obstetricians/gynecologists provide the best in women's health care in a safe, welcoming environment. Our physicians offer a wide range of expertise and experience as gynecologists, specializing in treating diseases of the female reproductive system, and as obstetricians, caring for women during pregnancy, in delivery, and in the post-delivery period. A number of our physicians have also received specialized training in the treatment of female infertility.

	R. Burke Archibald, MD has special interests in general obstetrics and gynecology, GYN-surgery, and laparoscopy. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed residency training at The Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco. Dr. Archibald joined The Woman's Clinic in 2003.
	Heidi Bendorf Chasan, MD joined The Woman's Clinic in 2005. She earned her bachelor's degree from the College of Idaho and her medical degree from the University of Washington, where she also completed specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology.
	Jenni L. Bradley, MD is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, with professional interests in normal and high-risk obstetrics, and laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She recently moved her practice from Meridian to Boise. Dr. Bradley earned her bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and her master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in maternal and infant nutrition, from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
	Robert W. Davis, MD began his practice at The Woman's Clinic in 1979. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Davis is on active staff at St. Luke's Boise/Meridian where he served as chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (1983-84) and member of the Ethics Committee (1988-1993).
	Bryan Hodges, MD earned his undergraduate degree from Boise State University and medical degree from the University of Washington. He completed residency training at Georgetown University and joined The Woman's Clinic in 2002.
	Necole Javernick-Hodges, MD earned her undergraduate degree from Boise State University and medical degree from the University of Washington. She completed her residency training program at The Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC and joined The Woman's Clinic in 2002.
	Kathleen Keating, DO focuses on empowering patients to participate in their treatment plan and promoting general health and wellness. She earned her bachelor's degree from Beloit College, where she focused on public health. She completed an externship in a Ugandan refugee camp, an experience that inspired her to become a doctor. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, and served a National Health Service Corps commitment in rural northwest Colorado.
	B. Kerry Lowder, MD has special interests in obstetrics, infertility, and surgery. He has been involved with medical research and is currently involved in several clinical medical trials. He earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the University of Washington. He completed his residency in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
	Dean T. Watkins, MD, MEd joined The Woman's Clinic in 1970 and retired in 2003 after a 33-year career. In the fall of 2009, he returned to the Clinic to provide care for gynecology patients and counseling. Dr. Watkins received his medical education and post-graduate training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He also earned a Master of Education degree in counseling from the College of Idaho.
	John M. Werdel, MD earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and his medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine. This included a rural medicine rotation in Papua, New Guinea, and a midwifery rotation in Ireland. Dr. Werdel completed subspecialty training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Virginia.
	Timothy A. West, MD completed his training at the University of Arizona and Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. He has spent time in Mexico and Honduras on medical mission projects, and has been with The Woman's Clinic since 1998.

Nurse Practitioners

Patients at St. Luke's Clinic – The Woman's Clinic are also cared for by three nurse practitioners. Nationally certified by the Idaho State Board of Nursing, our nurse practitioners carefully listen to the concerns of our patients to understand their needs, and collaborate with our physicians to provide optimal health care.

Nurse practitioners (NPs) are registered nurses with advanced education. With this advanced expertise, NPs are prepared to deliver primary health care in many specialty areas. Our NPs specialize in women's health care.

Nurse practitioners care for your health in a number of ways. They can:

• Perform physical exams
• Diagnose and treat common health problems such as infections
• Treat and manage chronic health care problems
• Facilitate illness prevention to decrease health care costs
• Provide health education to improve or maintain health, and provide family planning and pregnancy care
• Conduct health screening procedures such as Pap smears, breast exams, and sport and employment physicals
• Perform procedures such as endometrial biopsies
• Prescribe medications

Ruth Butterfield, CRNP earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Augustana College. She became a certified OB/GYN nurse practitioner through the U.S. Air Force., and later completed the University of North Dakota certified Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program. Ruth's 35 years of experience include working in women's health care with the Air Force, Central District Health Department, Mayo Clinic, and The Woman's Clinic.

Kathleen (Kate) Martin, CRNP earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Idaho State University and completed her training as a women's health care nurse practitioner in 1978. She earned her master's degree in nursing and completed adult nurse practitioner training at the University of Portland. Kate has practiced as a nurse practitioner in the Boise area for 25 years, and has particular interest in the health care of adolescent girls and perimenopausal women.

Kerri L. Tucker, CRNP is a women's health care nurse practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Oregon Health Sciences University and spent six years in the U.S. Air Force specializing in obstetrical nursing. In 2004, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree in the Perinatal Nurse Practitioner program at Regis University. She earned her Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner certification in 2006.

Insurance Plans

St. Luke's Clinic – The Woman's Clinic has adopted a "payment at the time of service" policy in order to hold down fee increases. We will expect payment of insurance co-pays, deductible, and non-covered services at time of treatment.

We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. Exceptions to this general policy may apply for obstetrical care and surgery fees as follows:

• Obstetrical Care: The portion of the fee not covered by insurance can either be paid in full at the initial visit or paid in three monthly installments prior to delivery.
• Surgical Fees: That portion of the surgical fee not covered by insurance should be paid in full at the pre-op visit.

For your convenience, we provide one central patient billing office. As a courtesy to you, we will be happy to file your insurance claims. We do request a copy of your insurance card to ensure accurate information for processing. Please be aware that you are responsible for the entire amount even though you may have insurance coverage.

Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans are accepted. We ask that you bring your insurance card with you to each visit and notify us of any changes in your address, phone number, or insurance information.

Your Appointment

Scheduling: Please set your appointments as far in advance as possible to provide better choice of appointment times.

Appointment Day: Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment. Please notify us if you will be late, in which case you may be asked to reschedule. We ask that you check in with our receptionist each time you arrive for your appointment. Please bring your insurance information with you. If you are a new patient, you will be mailed paperwork to complete prior to your appointment.

We will make every attempt to honor your appointment time. On occasion we must deal with delays due to deliveries, surgeries, and other emergencies during office hours. Our receptionist will notify you if your physician is running behind. Please let our receptionist know if you wish to reschedule.

Reaching Our Switchboard: IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY, PLEASE LET THE CLINIC OPERATOR KNOW IMMEDIATELY.

When calling to speak with a physician or nurse, our operator will take your name, date of birth, phone number, and brief message. Your chart and message will then be delivered to the appropriate person who will return your call between seeing patients as time allows.

• If you have a problem or emergency at any time while your physician is away from the office, one of the other physicians will be available to care for you.
• If your situation demands immediate attention, and you are unable to reach the doctor, please go to St. Luke's Hospital Emergency Room.

Medication Refills

Prior to calling our office, please check with your pharmacist. Often they can coordinate your prescription refill directly with your physician. Please plan to allow 24-48 hours to process your refill request.
