Neurology is a medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system. The physicians at St Luke’s Clinic – Neurology specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles, caring for patients from the age of 15 through the end of life.

Our Medical Providers

Anna Irwin, MD Anna Irwin, MD is a board certified neurologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related disorders. Her particular interests are in management of central hypersomnia, dementia, headache, movement disorder, and stroke. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the Ohio State University, where she also earned her medical degree. She completed her neurology residency and sleep medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Sergei V. Kashirny, MD, PhD Sergei V. Kashirny, MD, PhD specializes in the clinical evaluation and diagnosis of epilepsy and other general neurological conditions (migraine, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, dementias, disorders of the nerves and muscles). Dr. Kashirny completed medical school and postgraduate research training at Vinnitsa Medical University, Ukraine. He performed his neurology residency and internship in internal medicine at Louisiana State University, where he also completed his clinical neurophysiology fellowship with a special emphasis in EEG and epilepsy.
Heidi Orme, MD, MSPH Heidi Orme, MD, MSPH specializes in the clinical evaluation and electrodiagnosis of neuromuscular diseases, motor neuron disease, disorders of the peripheral nerves and muscles, disorders of the brain and spinal cord, and other general neurological conditions. Dr. Orme completed medical school and her neurology residency at the University of Utah, and her neuromuscular fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Jozef Ottowicz, MD Jozef Antoni Ottowicz, MD is a board certified and a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He provides comprehensive general neurology care, and is currently accepting new patients into his practice. His expertise includes stroke, TIA, dementia, Parkinson's disease, neuropathy, neuromuscular disorders, motor neuron disease, and other general neurology conditions. Dr. Ottowicz earned his medical degree from Medical University, School of Medicine in Gdansk, Poland in 1981. He completed medical residencies in internal medicine at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in New York and neurology at the University of Washington. He completed his fellowship training in neuromuscular disorders and electrophysiology at the University of Utah. After 17 years in private practice, he joined St. Luke's hospital staff in 2008. He also practices at Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana (Mayo Clinic Network), where he has served since 2010.
James Whiteside, MD James Whiteside, MD specializes in epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, migraine, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and carpal tunnel syndrome. His scope of care includes inpatient consultations, general neurology clinic, and EEG; and his clinical interests include stroke, neuromuscular diseases, neuro-immunology, infectious disease, and neuro-oncology. Dr. Whiteside earned his medical degree from Texas A&M Medical School. He performed his neurology residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital and his internship in internal medicine through the University of Washington's Boise program.

Your Appointment
We try to stay on time, as a courtesy to you and others. Since paperwork may take a few minutes, please arrive early. As emergencies do occur, there may be occasions when your appointment time will be delayed. We will always try to keep you informed in the event of a delay, and will be happy to reschedule your appointment, if you prefer. We ask that you respect the appointment time we have reserved for you, and call 24 hours ahead to cancel or change appointments so that others may be helped during that time.

Communication with your provider is extremely important. It may be helpful for you to write down questions for your doctor or nurse practitioner prior to your visit. Bring a list of medications and the dosages, or bring the bottles with you.

Make sure you understand any instructions you are given. If clarification is needed, review your instructions with the provider or medical assistant before you leave. If you aren’t doing well after your visit, we want to hear from you. Our goal is to improve your health.

Insurance Plans
We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare, in-state Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and others.

Medication Refills
Talk with your provider at each visit to be sure your prescriptions are up to date. When you need to refill your prescriptions, you can request them directly through your myChart account.

You can also request a refill by contacting your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for verification and approval. For patient safety, narcotics cannot be refilled outside of office hours. Talk with your provider before your prescription runs out, and please allow 48 hours for refills.
