St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital is home to the state’s only Pediatric Surgery Suites with child-focused pre- and post-operative areas to keep patients and families secure and comfortable. With the availability of three pediatric general surgeons, pediatric anesthesia, and nine pediatric subspecialty surgeons, we are able to meet the needs of children with almost any surgical condition.

Pediatric dental specialists use our surgical facilities to provide comfortable and rapid pedodontic care in a secure environment; endoscopy is available from a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist; and our pediatric cardiologists provide diagnostic care in cardiac catheterization labs with specialized equipment and staff suited to the needs of children. Other pediatric surgical specialists who practice at the Children’s Hospital include plastic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, and neurosurgeons.

Because anxiety often accompanies pediatric surgery, Child Life specialists are also part of the team. Child Life specialists provide a weekly Pre-Surgery Tour for children and their families, where they visit the operating rooms and answer questions.
