Scott Snyder

Scott A. Snyder, MD
NICU Medical Director

Dr. Snyder earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1998. He completed his pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Department of Pediatrics / Children's Hospital of New Mexico.

Ronald Coen

Ronald W. Coen, MD
Dr. Coen earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University in 1963, and completed his pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. He performed his neonatal fellowship at the University of Cincinnati,and served as director of neonatology at the University of New Mexico and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Coen is the author of numerous papers and a book on care of the newborn, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Academic Society.

 

Charlene Crichton

Charlene Crichton, MD
Dr. Crichton earned her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in 1997, and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. She performed her neonatology fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University, where she also served as an assistant professor.

Nick Harper, MD

Nick Harper, MD
Dr. Harper is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He completed his neonatal-perinatal fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He served as NICU medical director for Ogden Medical Center in Utah and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, an NICU that he initiated – and watched grow to a 40-bed unit. He instituted North Texas’s first neonatal “ECMO,” bringing this advanced life-saving technology to babies whose condition is so critical that ventilator care is not sufficient.

 

Amy Kirk, MD

Amy T. Kirk, MD
Dr. Kirk is board certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine and general pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and completed her internship, residency, and fellowship training at the University of Utah. She has served as neonatologist and faculty at the University of Tennessee and Thompson Children’s Hospital, St. Marks Hospital, and the University of Utah.

Eric Meyers

Erik N. Meyers, MD
Dr. Meyers is board certified in pediatrics and neonatology, and a fellow of the Society for Pediatric Research. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He performed his pediatrics residency and neonatology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, where he also served as clinical instructor. Dr. Meyers was an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Developmental Biology.

 

Declan O'Riordon

Declan O'Riordan, MD
Dr. O'Riordan earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1997. He completed his pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. O’Riordan also has experience in pediatric emergency medicine and general pediatrics. His research interests include neonatal herpes simplex virus infections, perinatal brain injury, and intrauterine methamphetamine exposure.

James W. VanLooy Jr., MD
Dr. VanLooy is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. His research includes the use of pre-medication prior to intubation in neonates. Dr. VanLooy earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic and his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Michigan.

Tammy Allen

Tammy Allen, RN, MSN, NNP-BC
Tammy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Utah and her master's degree from the Advanced Practice Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program at the Medical University of South Carolina. She has served as a clinical educator and is NCC-certified in neonatal intensive care. She is an instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE (post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick newborns), and the STABLE cardiac module.



Cheri Beaumont

Cheri Beaumont, RN, MSN, NNP-BC
Cheri earned master’s degrees as an early intervention specialist and neonatal nurse practitioner in 1995, after 14 years as an NICU staff nurse and three additional years of education and internship.

Anthony Broderick

Anthony Broderick, RN, MSN, NNP-BC
Anthony earned his associate degree in respiratory therapy in 1987 and associate degree in nursing in 1995. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing degree, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, in 2004.

Janet Buchanan, MS, NNP-BC, MBA

Janet Buchanan, MS, NNP-BC, MBA
Janet has more than 20 years of experience as a neonatal nurse practitioner, including care of infants with cardiac, surgical, and respiratory conditions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1989, Master of Science in Nursing-Neonatal Nurse Practitioner degree in 1991, and Master of Business Administration degree in 1999, all from the University of Utah.

Maria Cheatham

Maria Cheatham, RN, MSN, NNP-BC
Maria has worked in newborn intensive care for more than 25 years, caring for infants in the NICU and serving as an NICU educator. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from California State University, Hayward in 1987, and her master’s degree in nursing, neonatal nurse practitioner, from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1999.

Abby Gray, RN, MSN, NNP-BC

Abby Gray, RN, MSN, NNP-BC
Abby has 15 years’ experience in neonatal nursing, and is a nationally certified neonatal nurse practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Boise State University and her Master of Science in Nursing degree, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

LaResa Janousek

LaResa Janousek, RN, MSN, NNP-BC
LaResa earned her master's degree in advanced practice neonatal nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Boise State University. She has served as a member of the high-risk delivery and maternal/child transport teams and is a STABLE (post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick newborns) instructor.

Jane Scott, MD
Dr. Scott is board certified in pediatrics, and has blended her pediatric practice at the Physician Center with her duties as director of Neonatolgy and Newborn Services at St. Luke's Magic Valley since 1998. She attended the University of Western Australia and the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa, and earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She completed her pediatrics residency, pediatrics internship, and neonatology fellowship at Duke University Medical School and Medical Center.

Jared Hansen, MD
Dr. Hansen is board certified in general pediatrics. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Brigham Young University, Hawaii in 2000, and his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in 2004. He completed his pediatric internship and residency through the Brown University Pediatric Residency Program in 2007.

Gregory Jones, MD
Dr. Jones earned his bachelor's degree in zoology from Brigham Young University, with minors in chemistry and Spanish, in 1994. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1998. He completed his pediatric residency at Columbus Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University in 2001, and joined St. Luke's Clinic Physician Center that same year.

Mitchell Moffitt, MD
Dr. Moffitt is board certified in general pediatrics and cares for patients in the clinic, hospital, and Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and his medical degree from George Washington School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma in 2003, and joined St. Luke's Clinic Physician Center in 2007. Dr. Moffitt speaks fluent Spanish.

John Trotter, MD
Dr. Trotter is board certified in pediatrics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Davidson College and Master of Science degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and completed residencies at the University of Arkansas Health Sciences Hospital/Arkansas Children's Hospital – where he served as chief resident – and Princess Mary Hospital for Children in Auckland, New Zealand.
