Special Events

On Friday, June 8th 2007, St. Luke’s welcomed 830 ‘kindergartners’ to our Kid For A Night classroom for an evening of fun and games to benefit the kids at St. Luke's Children's Hospital.

Our rambunctious students explored and played their way through the Kid For A Night kindergarten curriculum:

Music
An interactive lesson plan; students learned about music appreciation while dancing to tunes from a variety of genres including the 70’s, 80’s, and county.

Art                     
A variety of activities encouraged students to nurture and express their creative side: macaroni necklace making, mural painting, and creating play-dough sculptures. 

Snack Time
Students enjoyed a delicious sampling of yummy food (from all five-food groups of course!).

Recess / PE           
Kid For A Night kindergartners got to know their fellow classmates with friendly games of four-square, basketball, and trike racing. 

Show and Tell           
The Kid For A Night Silent Auction featured more than 150 treasures sure to make each student the coolest kid in their neighborhood.

The 2007 Kid For A Night Class received record marks – Thanks to the generous support of our community, Kid For A Night Goes to Kindergarten raised $410,193 for ill and injured kids at St. Luke's Children's Hospital
