St. Luke’s Home Care team of skilled professionals provides comprehensive health care in the warmth and comfort of
the patient’s home. From newborns to seniors, we offer the latest home care techniques and technology to people at
all ages and stages of life.
Our services are provided under a physician’s order for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. In partnership with the patient, family, and physician, our home care professionals create a plan of care tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Skilled Nursing Services
St. Luke’s Home Care nurses are highly specialized professionals trained to provide assistance with complex therapies. Our skilled nursing services include health assessments, wound nurse consultations, IV therapy, catheter and colostomy care, pain management, and much more – all designed to help patients maintain their comfort, dignity, and independence.
Physical Therapy Services
Our physical therapists work with our patients on strengthening, mobility, and conditioning training and exercises, to help maximize function in the performance of daily activities.
Occupational Therapy Services
St. Luke’s occupation therapists work to enhance each patient’s independence through the use of special equipment and training, focusing on dressing, feeding, bathing, memory, mobility, and home safety.
Speech Therapy Services
Our speech therapists provide assistance with patients’ language delays, learning disabilities, and voice and swallowing disorders.
Social Work Services
Our social workers provide crisis intervention, counseling, guidance, and community resource referrals and information.
Respiratory Therapy Services
St. Luke’s respiratory therapists provide assessment and consultation for complex respiratory conditions.
Nutrition Counseling Services
Our registered dietitians provide comprehensive nutritional assessment and counseling.
Home Health Aide Services
Our home health aides assist patients with personal care, including bathing, ambulation, and exercise.
Home Telehealth
Telehealth enables us to monitor, evaluate, and educate acutely and chronically ill patients between regularly scheduled nurse visits. Clinical information is monitored every day while the patient stays in the comfort of his or her home. Telehealth is currently available for patients in the Boise and McCall service areas.
Specialized Pediatric Service
A team of nurses, social worker, and rehabilitation staff specially trained in pediatrics provides home care for high-risk newborns and children of
all ages.
St. Lukes Hospice
In cases of life-limiting illness, Hospice
services may be appropriate. St. Lukes Hospice team
includes nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers
dedicated to helping people die with dignity at home, free
of pain and surrounded by loved ones.

Scheduling Home Care Visits
St. Luke's Home Care visits are scheduled
upon referral from a doctor. Once a physician referral is
made, a Home Care representative meets with the patient to
discuss his or her needs and develop a plan of care.
Insurance Considerations
Home Care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid,
and most private insurance companies; these agencies are
billed directly. For those without insurance coverage, other
options may be available.
