Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
St. Luke's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
provides the highest level of care for critically ill children.
Pediatric physician specialists work with specially trained
registered nurses and respiratory therapists to address each
child’s critical needs. Children of all ages—infant
through adolescent—come to our unit for care of severe
illness or injury and recovery from complex surgery. Like
everywhere else in our Children’s Hospital, the needs
of children and families are nurtured by the additional care
of chaplains, social workers, and child life specialists.
Our newly expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit includes 12 rooms with a total of 13 beds, and 6 rooms designed to accommodate the special inpatient needs of children with cancer.
