YAK Summer Opportunities

Jay Owenhouse Magic Show - Jay Owenhouse is returning to perform his amazing magic show.  Come watch as Jay makes audience members float in mid-air, get sawed in half, and disappear!  Jay is once again joined by his Bengal Tiger, Shere-Khan.  This year, Jay will perform only one show so be sure to get tickets in advance!!  Volunteers needed all day.  Saturday, June 13, 2:00 p.m. in the Wood River High School Gymnasium.  Tickets are on sale now, and may be purchased in advance at a discount by calling 1-800-779-8600.  To volunteer, call Kelly at 727-8735.

Frank Church Wilderness Stewardship Trip - Preservation of Idaho's incredible natural area is critically important.  St. Luke's YAK! will join the U.S. Forest Service in the Frank Church Wilderness for several days of trail maintenance and wilderness stewardship.  Join us for community service outside the Valley.  Space is limited - call to reserve your spot. June 26-29 and August 21-24 .  To volunteer, call Regina at 727-8736.

Camp Rainbow Gold - This annual camp is in support of youth ages 6-17 who have been diagnosed with cancer.  Volunteers are needed to assist with the welcome day of camp.  Donate your service in this beautiful setting north of Ketchum.  Sunday, August 2 from 2-5 p.m. at Cathedral Pines.  To volunteer, call Kelly at 727-8735.

BCTAC (Blaine County Teen Advisory Council) meeting every Tuesday — BC TAC is a fun, hardworking youth action council committed to improving the community by involving young people in community service, creating programs and services to address youth needs, and building Developmental Assets7-8 p.m. at the Community Campus HUB. New or interested high school students welcome! For information, call Kelly at 727-8735.

BC TAC II meeting every Tuesday during the school year — BC TAC II is a middle school youth council that works to improve both the school and outside community for young people.  BC TAC II helps educate our youth about building Developmental Assets, largely by planning and implementing community service projects.  3:30-5:15 p.m. in the Wood River Middle School library.  New or interested middle school students welcome!  For information, call Regina at 727-8736.

BC TAC III meeting every Tuesday — BC TAC III is a newly formed group that seeks to improve the health of Latino elementary school students.  Participants learn about healthy lifestyle through interactive and movement-based activities.  6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Community Campus Fitness Studio . New or interested elementary school students welcome! For information, call Regina at 727-8736.

Young Moms Group every Thursday during the school year- All Wood River Valley teen moms and moms-to-be are invited to our new fun and supportive group.  We will focus on topics like relationships, motherhood and healthy choices.  Babies are invited!  To get involved, call Regina at 727-8736.
