What is Asset Building

  • Assets are forty building blocks - concrete, positive experiences and qualities that help youth make wise decisions, choose positive paths, and grow up competent, caring, and healthy.
  • When present, Assets protect young people from risk-taking behaviors and nurture positive behaviors.
  • Asset Building is a philosophy which frames a vision of individuals and community valuing next-generation youth.
  • In an Asset Building community, all residents see themselves as guardians of the community's youth.
  • Anyone can be an Asset Builder and contribute to the development of Assets in their youth.
